Trivia / Immortal X-Men

  • Bonus Material: Writer Kieron Gillen created a public Spotify playlist as a soundtrack to accompany the series.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Issue #7. According to Gillen, he was unsure when this issue would release in relation to the end of Judgment Day or if there would be possible publishing delays. To play it safe and avoid potentially spoiling the ending, Gillen intentionally structured it as a stand-alone interlude set during the 19th Century.
  • Series Hiatus: After #10 (Jan. 18, 2023), Immortal X-Men took a three month break for the duration of Sins of Sinister, a Bat Family Crossover set in a Bad Future. It was directly replaced by the miniseries Immoral X-Men, with the original series returning in early May.
  • What Could Have Been: Kieron Gillen has mentioned "Sentinels of Krakoa" and "the AI-confederacy" as two arcs that would probably have been in his run, but were cut to make space for the A.X.E.: Judgment Day event.
    • In an interview, Gillen revealed that Unit, a character created by Gillen during the Utopia era, was intended to come back as the diplomat of the AI-confederacy, angry at Krakoa’s anti-AI stance.
  • Word of God: Kieron Gillen commented on the Genre Savvy nature of the cast by saying that, while some of the Quiet Council think they’re in House of Cards (US), and others think they’re in The West Wing, one of them knows that they’re in Veep.
