• Acting for Two: Denis Lavant plays eleven roles in this film.
• Colbert Bump: The trailer uses Kongos' "Come with me Now". Somewhat unknown back then, it was nigh inescapable a year or so later.
• In Memoriam: The movie is dedicated to Russian actress Yekaterina Golubeva, Leos Carax's partner and the mother of his child. She tragically committed suicide in August 2011, right before the film went into production. The film makes peace with that tragedy in a very interesting way.
• Production Posse: One of several Leos Carax films where Denis Lavant plays the main role.
