• Actor Allusion:
  • One episode featured Bob Hope as an angel who had a problem when the heavenly computer was being upgraded. When the work on it was completed at the end of the episode he said —altogether now — "Thanks for the memory."
  • In the episode titled "I Was a Middle-Aged Werewolf", Jonathan appears as a wolfman to help a little boy get over his fears. One of Michael Landon's earliest roles was the titular lycanthrope in I Was a Teenage Werewolf.
• Directed by Cast Member: The only regular cast members were Michael Landon and Victor French, who between them directed all but five episodes of the entire run (French did 12, Landon 94).
• Genius Bonus: The blessing that Arthur gives to Mark and Jonathan is an old Celtic blessing. Perfect for someone who (thinks he is) King Arthur.
• Written by Cast Member: Michael Landon penned numerous episodes, including the pilot and the Series Finale.
• You Look Familiar: in one episode, Pa Cartwright is an old actor who swears he saw God in the audience of his play.
  • Much Lampshade Hanging is done in "I Was A Middle-Aged Werewolf" regarding how much the actor in I Was a Teenage Werewolf looks like Jonathan. Jonathan, naturally, is skeptical of this.
