• Breakup Breakout: Subverted Trope. Contrary to popular belief, Gary actually enjoyed more success than Robbie Williams in the immediate aftermath of Take That's breakup. But Robbie's career soon took off dramatically while Gary faded into the background.
• Career Resurrection: After his second album tanked, Barlow fell into a heavy depression and gained a lot of weight. A few years later, he lost that excess weight and reunited with Take That, whose next album topped the British charts. In 2012, he was chosen to organise the concert for Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee. The next year, he released his first album in over a decade, which debuted at #2.
