- Approval of God:
- Tristian Alric, the composer of Bug Fables, loved Jonny's rendition of "Transcending, Overpowering, Everlasting". He also loved the rendition of "Mecha Bee Destroyer Blastlord".
- Grant Kirkhope himself loved Jonny’s cover of Rusty Bucket Bay.
- Kohta Takahashi, the original composer for "Move Me", praised Jonny's rendition of it.
- CutManMike expressed his approval of Jonny covering the final boss theme from his fangame, Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch.
- Blooper: Jonny’s dog slipped into the video for Rusty Bucket Bay.
- Creator Backlash: His older versions of songs, pre-2013, fit under this. To the extent that when Jonny announced GaMetal Project One, the framing story made the old Jonny Death into an attempt to create the ultimate bard...but turned out to be a massively Flawed Prototype that had to be sealed away.
- Creator's Favorite Episode: The creator, Jonny Atma, has stated in an interview that some of his favourite GaMetal songs are Hyrule Temple, Punch-Out!, Dark Star Core, and Deoxys, among others.
- He Also Did: Vocals and guitars for the song "Panic in the Sky!" in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, and most of the guitars on the rest of the soundtrack.
- Meme Acknowledgement: At The Stinger of his Wood Man cover, his acoustic short is of mm2wood.midi and the message is ">:]", both associated SiIvaGunner lore. The video description even says "Nice".
- Milestone Celebration:
- The 50th and 100th GaMetal songs are both Epic Rocking medleys of previous GaMetal songs and gaming's most iconic themes, respectively.
- To celebrate 50 thousand subscribers, he did a rendition of One Winged Angel
- Promoted Fanboy:
- Jonny is a fan of Super Mario Bros. Z. Some of his music was used in the reboot's first episode, and the creator of the series even requested some music to used in a later episode.
- Jonny loans his talents in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge.
- Jonny is already a big fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, having done numerous metal-rock covers for various songs throughout Sonic's history. He got the chance to work with Tee Lopes for the announcement track of Sonic Dream Team, which he proclaimed was a huge honor.
- Screwed by the Lawyers: Back when he was called Jonny Death, someone trademarked the name and had his YouTube account deleted for trademark infringement. This didn't stick of course, now that his channel is named GaMetal.
- What Could Have Been: An occasional Schedule Slip or two may happen which postpones various covers. This has led to some of his yearly finale covers to becoming debuts for the following year, which has happened with King Olly's battle (which was intended to end 2021) and Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit (which was intended to end 2022).
