Trivia / Fort Minor

Go To

  • Black Sheep Hit: "Where'd You Go" isn't really representative of Fort Minor's harder-edged underground Rap Rock style.
  • Doing It for the Art: Shinoda spent almost all of his time producing and playing all the instruments for the project with little prospect of mainstream success just because he really wanted to do it.
  • One-Hit Wonder: Technically, they're a one-hit wonder for "Where'd You Go". However, "Remember the Name" is far-better remembered. Both songs have also since been certificated platinum (meaning they have each sold a million copies) making them a technical Two-Hit Wonder.
  • Put on a Bus: Fort Minor itself. As the project was more of a hobby for Shinoda during the between recording material for Linkin Park, it was put on an indefinite hiatus due to his commitments to the band. As the hiatus had lasted almost a decade without any solid confirmation of a return, many believed the project had ended.
    • The Bus Came Back: Fort Minor returned in 2015, ten years after their debut album, with "Welcome" and a brief tour.... then they went on hiatus again, leaving the band's fate in uncertainty once more, especially after Shinoda deliberately released Post Traumatic in 2018 under his own name instead of Fort Minor's. That said, however, during the Post Traumatic Tour and after, he stressed that at this point he considers the music under his own name to be a continuation of Fort Minor. In fact, he has outright stated that, had he not started the project, some of the tracks that ended up on Post Traumatic would've likely been released under the Fort Minor name instead.
