• The Other Darrin: While almost every voice actor from the anime reprise their respective roles here, are Isshin Chiba replacing the late Kaneto Shiozawa as the voice of Rei, and Kunihiro Kawamoto as Ken, replacing Akira Kamiya. Also, for their voiced cameos, Ayumi Tsunematsu and Miwa Kouzuki replaced Teiyu Ichiryusai and Tomiko Suzuki as Bat and Lynn respectively. With the exception of Mr. Heart's voice, all of the KING lieutenants changed actors with Diamond going from Daisuke Gōri to Naotsugu Yoneda and Club going from Kōji Totani to Riichi Nishimoto. Bizarrely, Totani voices Spade here instead of his series actor, Tesshō Genda.
• Role Reprise: Almost every voice actor from the anime (except for Akira Kamiya and the late Kaneto Shiozawa) reprise their roles in the game.
• While never actually seen in series, Yuda's Kesshou Shi technique is his Instant Kill here. It starts with Yuda throwing an energy wave at his opponent that, when it hits, disables their guard. After it does, Yuda performs a VERY Psycho Crusher-esque move, finger first.
• This game was also the second Hokuto no Ken property to name Shin's specific Nanto branch style (Nanto Koshu Ken) and the first to actually announce the style's name on-screen via one of Shin's VAs (his original, no less) as he shouts "Nanto Koshu Ken Ougi!" when performing his Fatal KO.
