• Production Posse: In Final Cut, Michel Hazanavicius casts his wife Bérénice Bejo for the sixth time in his filmography.
• Real-Life Relative: Johanna is played by Simone Hazanavicius, the daughter of Michel Hazanavicius and Bérénice Bejo (who plays Nadia, Johanna's mother). The camerawoman is also played by Raïka Hazanavicius, Simone's cousin.
• Reality Subtext: Michel Hazanavicius wanted to make a film about the making of a film after having "ridiculous, touching and surprising moments" on the filming of his previous films.
