Trivia / Earth One

  • Schedule Slip: While former publisher Dan Didio has stated that the Earth One line runs on a "It's ready when it's ready" release schedule it seems that they at least try for a new volume in a series every two to three years, though waiting until the creative team is done to release it leads to tonnes of this:
    • The Teen Titans series released it's second volume in 2016, two years after the first, but very little has been said since that a volume three is even happening.
    • Batman volume three is particuarly infamous for this, as in the time between the release of volumes two and three the entirety of the Wonder Woman series was released.
    • As of 2023 it has been thirteen years since the Earth One line started and Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman have not even met yet, let alone think about creating a Justice League.
    • Not only has the line, which was created to excite new readers with fresh takes on classic characters, only produced 13 total volumes in 14 years but there were no volumes at all released in 2013, 2017, 2019, and 2022.
  • What Could Have Been: Series based on The Flash, to be written by J. Michael Straczynski, and Aquaman, to be written and drawn by Francis Manapul, were announced but the Flash series seems to have been quietly cancelled with Straczynski's retirement from comics writing and Aquaman was confirmed as cancelled when Manapul left the company.
