  • Dummied Out:
    • Stompbear, a bear enemy from the pre-alpha demo, cannot be found in the final game but still has audio files with filenames that point to it.
    • The editable language files contain strings for runes that do not seem to be available in the actual game, such as "Gem Defense" (lose Manaroc instead of getting damaged) and "Bug Be Gone" (Koji goes after nearby insects after an attack).
  • Short Run in Peru: Downplayed. While the PC version on Steam was made available worldwide at the time of release, the Switch version launched in America only with the European release being delayed by a week, despite the game originating from an European country.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Stompbear could be fought in the old pre-alpha demo but was cut out from the final game. Its audio files and graphics are still present in the game's file directory.
    • The original trailer and one of the gif animations on the game's Kickstarter page briefly showcase a squirrel-like enemy, but it is nowhere to be found in the final version.
    • Several runes from the pre-alpha demo were changed or removed in the final game; the rune that adds extra Manaroc slots used to add two new slots instead of three, while the Scavenger rune (which multiplied golden seeds gotten from enemies) and Map rune (which revealed the whole level) were removed with the former being replaced by the Bully rune (which causes enemies to drop one seed when struck).
    • In-level eagle statues were located in regular rooms in the pre-alpha demo, and they would rise and drop red gems and Manaroc (the former becoming hearts in the full game) when approached with the travelling/warping feature not yet implemented. In the full game these now only rise once every enemy in the room is defeated, only appear in small designated rooms and the entrance room, and will only drop hearts and Manaroc if the player has the Offering rune equipped (and at the price of golden seeds).
    • The pre-alpha demo featured a combo timer underneath the player's heart sprite, which isn't present in the final game and was instead replaced by combo numbers appearing above enemies that are struck in quick succession.
    • The original Kickstarter once presented the areas of Eagle Island with most of them being labelled with their name and a couple labelled with ???, but a few of these areas had undergone a name change in the full game:
      • Smuggleaway Bay - Coastal Cliffs
      • Gemshine Mines - Canyon of Mines
      • Sanctuary Swamp - Avtec Ruins
      • Hollow Hestia - Storm Temple
    • This short video showcases the minecart section of Gemshine Mines while in early development, with what appears to be a brief snippet of early level music and a different minecart riding theme that bears resemblance to the boss theme of Veneblossom and Scorchion.
