Trivia / Dragonheart: Vengeance

  • What Could Have Been
    • Actresses with the Dame title were initially considered to voice Siveth to keep some consistency with knights voicing the dragons in the previous movies (expect Robby Benson and Harry Van Gorkum). However, Helena Bonham Carter was still always a top choice.
    • Screenwriter Matthew Feitshans initially planned for The Wolf character to become the next film's villain. His face was also never shown onscreen originally; Lukas would have seen it, but no one else.
    • During the confrontation with The Bear, Feitshans wrote the scene with Siveth swooping in, trying to grab Lukas and take him away, but he stubbornly keeps dodging her.
    • There were more moments of Siveth talking to herself in the script.
  • Word of God
    • The film's events (counting its flashbacks) span roughly 35 years, starting before the previous movie and ending after it. So, the events of Dragonheart 4 happen miles away in the background during a portion of this film.
    • Siveth's connection to King Razvan echoes the dynamic between Draco and Einon in Dragonheart. The royal is responsible for the dragon's misery, and order only gets restored by one of them getting taken down. The main difference, in this case, is that there's no bond between Siveth and Razvan like there is with Draco and Einon.
    • Siveth converted to vegetarianism since eating the local wildlife outside her cave would have left her with no one to talk to, and the animals wouldn't have gone near her if she kept eating them.
    • The reasoning behind the female dragons' ability to turn into other animals is to distinguish them from the males, who camouflage as rocks or water (inanimate objects). It's also a creative cost-cutting maneuver to have Siveth onscreen often without being in her dragon form.
    • Revenge-themed Westerns inspired the film's structure.
    • Feitshans admitted that aspects of the Donald Trump administration inspired the Razvan character, like living extravagantly and using agents to create excuses to start needless fights to make himself look like a hero.
