  • Demand Overload: As is usual for the franchise, physical copies for the game were repeatedly sold out in Japan even a month after release. This led it to become one of the top-selling titles on the Nintendo Switch eShop in Japan for 2023 despite not even being out for a month!
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": The game marks the international debut of the Tox spells, Blue Moon, Bone Idol, Cursed Crooner, Disfigurine, Frightening Conductor, Giruffian, Hyperboarean, Napir, Ripped Rabbit, String Fella, Tufty Tot, and Zaptile monsters, as well as Razerburn from Dragon Quest X, and skills and monsters that previously debuted in Monsters series games, such as Anchorman from Joker 2 Professional and Flapdragon.
  • Milestone Celebration: This game marks the 25th anniversary of Dragon Quest Monsters, and there's a special category of monsters consisting of characters from the mainline games.
  • No Export for You: The McDonalds promotional monsters are exclusive to Japan.
  • Refitted for Sequel: One of the monsters that debuts in the game is Gander, a Winky monster that was going to debut in the Game Boy Color remake of Dragon Quest IV, before Enix decided to scrap the project and make the PlayStation 1 remake instead.
  • Role Reprise: In addition to Daisuke Ono and Gwilym Lee returning as Psaro's Japanese and English voice actors respectively, the Japanese and English actors for the Hero's party all return from their previous stints in the Dragon Quest Heroes sub-series, as well as Bin Shimada for Aamon. And even Takeshi Kusao as the Hero/Solo from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
  • Sequel Gap: Released seven years after the previous installment.
