Trivia / Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan

• Anime First: An original anime project, although its manga adaptation started running before the anime.
• Darkhorse Casting: The Latin American Spanish dub used mostly newcomers in the voice acting industry, being the only veterans Maezawa (Roberto Mendiola), Zaito (Ricardo Bautista), Iboshi (Carlos Hernández), Hinomoto (Ángela Villanueva and Ana Lobo) and Sosoda's (Alejandro Mayen) voice actors. Curiously enough, all those characters are the seniors of the main characters in-universe.
• Executive Meddling: A very egregious example happens in the Latin American Spanish dub: The first four episodes were translated by Brenda Nava, one of the few qualified Japanese-to-Spanish translators in both Mexico and entire Latin America (outside Brazil), but she was forced to stop when the voice acting studio claimed the dub was canceled. It turns out it wasn't true and her work was credited to another translator, even for those four episodes she translated. To make the things even more egregious, the rest of the series was dubbed from the English dub instead.
• Playing Against Type:
  • Misaki Kuno, a voice actress well-known for voicing cute little girls (or sometimes, boys) or teens, voice Hisone, who is a young adult.
  • Romi Park, who normally plays boys, male teens or tomboys, and sometimes, sexy women, voices Sada Hinomoto, an old woman. The same goes for Cindy Robinson, her English counterpart, but averted in the Latin American Spanish dub, since her voice actress, Ángela Villanueva, is an old woman in Real Life.
• Portmanteau Series Nickname: "HisoMaso," from the names of the two lead characters. This is apparently the official nickname, since the voice actors sing it in the Eye Catch.
• Production Posse: Mari Okada and Hiroshi Kobayashi previously worked together on Kiznaiver.
