- Looping Lines: According to the DVD Commentary by Barbara Shelley and Suzan Farmer, all of Shelley's screams were dubbed over by Farmer.
- Missing Episode: In the scene where the vampire woman is being killed by the monks, the shot of the stake being driven into her heart is systematically shortened by a visible rough cut. To this day, no copy with the complete shot has been available.
- Production Posse: This was filmed back-to-back with Rasputin the Mad Monk, using many of the same cast members and sets.
- Role Reprise: Christopher Lee returns to the role of Dracula eight years after his first appearance.
- Sequel Gap: The film was released six years after The Brides of Dracula.
- Wag the Director: Christopher Lee claimed that he found his scripted lines so awful that he refused to say them, though Jimmy Sangster disputed this.
