• The Cast Showoff: Singer Mika Kanai voices Sharmee and performs her character's onscreen song, Yume Byori Which also plays in the end credits.
• Recycled Script: A few ideas from Doraemon: Nobita and the Haunts of Evil, one of the earlier movies, gets reused here. Both stories have Nobita adopting a stray dog who turns out to be far more than meets the eye, the andromorphic villain is a Fat Bastard animal, there's a Chekhov's Gun solution to the plot, and so on.
