- Underage Casting: The 1985 film cast the 48-year old Dustin Hoffman as the 63-year old Willy Loman.
- What Could Have Been: In keeping with the expressionistic view of the play, Arthur Miller's original plan for the set was an enormous version of Willy's own head, which would "split open" to show the audience scenes playing out in different areas.
