- Fan Community Nicknames: James has started calling his fans "Meaties" ever since the Kill Counts for Terrifier and The Slumber Party Massacre.
- In Memoriam: Akin to the Academy Awards, the 2023 Dead Meat Horror Awards introduced an "In Memoriam" segment.
- Missing Episode: Since it wasn't until the fifth episode, "Would You Rather", that the podcast started regularly uploading to the Dead Meat YouTube channel, the first four episodes of the podcast (including reviews on Wishmaster and Phantasm) are missing from the channel. - James is a huge fan of fellow horror web series Crypt TV, and was cast as the thief Raymond in the second season of The Look-See, his favorite monster of theirs. He's also the host of Meat Up, his own interview show on the channel, where he goes out to eat with well-known horror creators and stars, such as Tony Todd and Eli Roth.
- James and Chelsea ended up befriending writer duo Radio Silence after the latter intervened in a copyright strike made against their Ready or Not episode. This led to them having a cameo in the duo's later Scream (2022), in which they play a pair of Caustic Critic YouTubers who utterly despised Stab 8.
- Referenced by...: Chelsea and James appear in Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle, where they can be killed by Jason.
- Schedule Slip: Out of solidarity with the combined SAG-AFTRA/WGA 2023 Strike, the channel barred any works produced under the AMPTP from being covered on the Kill Count or Dead Meat Podcast beyond the already finished August 2023 slate for the duration of the Strike.
- Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things: As a result of comments including memes, film requests, comments about his facial hair, and people going after him for minor mistakes, James has decided that he may stop reading the comments on his videos.
