• What Could Have Been:
  • A movie crossover was proposed with contemporary series J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai, but Daitetsujin 17 was swapped in favor of J.A.K.Q.'s Sentai predecessor, Himitsu Sentai Gorenger, resulting in J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai vs. Goranger.
  • Initially the show was meant to be an anime, but Toei decided to make it a tokusatsu due to its similar premise to their Giant Robo tokusatsu from a decade prior.
