Trivia / Daigoro vs. Goliath

• Pop-Culture Urban Legends: Is a common assumption among fans that the costumes used for Daigoro’s Mother and Goliath were originally going to be used for Erabus and Red Moon (respectively) from the unmade Godzilla vs Red Moon (see What Could Have Been below) with the baby Daigoro prop originally being a prop for Hafun. This rumor persisted for decades before official Concept Art revealed what the three Kaiju actually were supposed to look like, and even then some people are still under this misconception.
• What Could Have Been: Believe it or not, this was originally meant to be a Godzilla movie! It would have been a collaboration between Toho Studios and Tsuburaya Productions. The original concept Godzilla vs Redmoon would have seen Godzilla battle a mated pair of monsters called Red Moon and Erabus when their child Hafun is captured and killed by greedy entrepreneurs. If it had come into fruition it would have made Tsuburaya Productions the first non-Toho company to make a Godzilla movie.
