  • Approval of God:
    • JonTron commented "That was honestly one of the best YTP's I've ever seen. 8 Mile part killed me. Nice job!" on "Jaunt Ron".
    • Sarah Z and her co-writer Emily both commented positively on "What Sarah Said", with Sarah declaring it "Just as delicious as all the people I have eaten" and Emily joking that she was "so glad I didn’t get eaten".
    • Dollip Daze called "Dollip Eats-a the Prizza" the best thing she's ever seen, and thanked DaThings for helping her celebrate her and Pizza's anniversary.
    • Kevin Perjurer, creator and host of Defunctland — tongue-in-cheek, of course — called "Jenson's Impact" "really moving", stating that Jenson's work impacted his life and it was incredible to see a "true documentary" film on him.
    • Salty DK Dan commented on "Prolly Troblems" saying that he never said anything said in the video, and also calling it "fucking amazing".
    • Matt Walks, one of the Jeopardy! contestants in the episode used for "Jeopardy's TWOth: Double the Bubble", called it "a legitimate work of art and a better experience than actually being on the show".
    • On the day that "Dolsin' Ideas" was released, Dan Olson tweeted "Fact: me hungry".
    • In the comments section for "Blue On The Other," Abigail Thorn wrote "Gary drives a car that, broadly, is cool <3".
  • Colbert Bump: Several people found "24601 Releases a Sammich on Parole" after a clip of it was featured in Lindsay Ellis's review of Cats.
  • In Memoriam: "Total Dryland", released in late February 2023, was dedicated to Christopher Schaffer and Patrick Phryllas, who were in a fatal car accident in late January that same year.
  • Missing Episode:
    • The original version of "Prawn Srars" was taken down due to copyright issues, but later re-uploaded in edited form. "The Sharkshank Redemption" suffered a similar fate but was reuploaded on the alternate channel DaThings2 under the name "Who Are The Sarksh?"
    • "Poom Poom Bow" was muted due to a copyright claim, but has been preserved on archive.org.
    • A poop of the band Celtic Thunder went missing as a result of a manual copyright takedown.
    • "Sweeney Todd Completes his Arm" has also been taken down due to copyright, but was reuploaded by a different user in 2017. As of 2021, it has been put back.
    • The original version of "Get Air Gasoline Park" was taken down by a copyright strike from Get Air. It would be reuploaded later in the year as "Get Out Gasoline Park," with every mention of the company's name being edited.
    • In July 2021, several older poops were made private due to containing jokes that modern-day Ellie no longer found appropriate. She noted during the Twitch stream where she reviewed these poops that some of them (such as "Faces of Florida") were fine other than one nasty joke here or there and she might remake them without the offending scene. DaThings Archives was eventually created as a side channel for the lightly-edited versions, while more in-depth reimaginings would go on the main channel.
    • The full version of "The King Files His Taxes" was only up for a very short time. The reupload on DaThings Archives contains only the first half; the second half promoting a Ko-Fi raffle was removed when Ellie realized that it could land her in hot water with Ko-Fi and/or the law.
  • Official Fan-Submitted Content:
    • Patreon subscribers were offered a chance to submit a voice clip of them saying "they did surgery on a grape" for a gag at the end of "Once in a Knifetime".
    • "Makes Cakes Bakes!" has a segment featuring several "loafs", represented by pictures of cats submitted by supporters.
