Trivia / Chespirito

Go To

  • Market-Based Title: When the show was released in Brazil, its title was adapted to "As Novas Aventuras do Chaves" ("The New Adventures of El Chavo") due to Chavo being by far the most well-known and Adored by the Network character - Chapulin was also iconic but not at the same extent, while Chómpiras and Dr. Chapatin were only known by their sketches on the original programs, and Chaparrón was completely unknown. This is despite the fact that, not only there were several other characters other than Chavo, but the only phase that got dubbed was the 90s era, in which El Chavo wasn't even the most relevant sketch anymore and was discontinued on the three final years of the program.
  • Missing Episode: The '70s version of the show has been rarely rerun and currently is not syndicated, although the recent surfacing of a clip from a rare skit of The Chifladitos on the website of a DVD distribuitor gives some hope.
  • Playing Against Type: Prior to joining Chespirito's crew, María Antonieta de las Nieves was more experienced in dramatic roles and hadn't done any comedic roles at that point, which is the reason she was reluctant on joining the cast at first. However, Chespirito talked her into agreeing, by explaining that a good actor should be able to do both comedic and serious roles, not just one or the other, and the rest is history.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: As of 2020, the 80s version of Chespirito alongside other shows created by him were pulled from the airwaves due to disputes between Grupo Chespirito and Televisa.
