• Creator Backlash: Years later when rewatching the episode for their House of Halliwell podcast, Holly Marie Combs and Brian Krause criticised the plot contrivance of Leo being unable to heal Piper because she wasn't supernaturally hurt, especially when "Love Hurts" had shown him healing Daisy when she cut her hand on glass, and he would later just heal any injuries with no problems.
• Hey, It's That Place!: The hospital scenes were filmed at the abandoned North Hollywood Medical Center which would later serve as Sacred Heart Hospital on Scrubs.
• Reality Subtext: The plot sees Piper come down with a life threatening disease and be hospitalised. Holly Marie Combs had fallen ill in the first season and was in hospital to have surgery, and she pointed out the parallels between the scenes here and what happened in real life. She even says that the moment of Phoebe jumping on the bed was something Alyssa Milano had done.
