Trivia / Bud Spencer

Go To

  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Though fairly popular in his home country Italy, Bud Spencer's films (especially those co-starring Terence Hill, but also some of his solo films such as Flatfoot) are extremely beloved in Hungary due to the national television airing them several times a year ever since they got dubbed to Hungarian. They even erected statues for him and unofficially named a park in Budapest after him.
  • He Also Did: He was an Olympic swimmer. He was an inventor. He was a musician and composer, sometimes even contributing to the soundtracks of the films he starred in together with Oliver Onions. For example, he helped them with both music and lyrics for the All The Way Boys theme song "Flying Through The Air", and he sang the theme song "GRAU GRAU GRAU" in Im For The Hippopotamus. He wrote the stories and/or scripts of some of his films, including Banana Joe. His non-acting contributions to his films aren't that well-known because he was credited by his real name Carlo Pedersoli for everything that wasn't acting. After All The Way Boys in which he played a pilot, he got himself a pilot's license for both airplanes and helicopters, and in 1984, he launched his own airline, Mistral Air.
