• What Could Have Been:
  • Originally both cousins were going to be killed in the fight with Hank, but then Vince Gilligan realized it would be terrible storytelling for them to die without ever laying eyes on Walt, so one of them survived to do it.
  • Gustavo Fring was originally scripted to be the disguised voice that phones Hank to warn him that the Cousins were coming, and he was even going to be shown making the call while talking to him. This had to be cut however, as it would've put Giancarlo Esposito over the limit of episode appearances he had in his contract. Furthermore, Thomas Schnauz figured that Hank would instantly recognize Gustavo's voice, even through a vocal modulator.
• Word of Saint Paul: According to Jeremiah Bitsui, Victor was the one who phoned Hank to warn him about Leonel and Marco's ambush, and also was the one who texted POLLOS to their pager to stop them from killing Walter in the second episode.
