Trivia / Break the Bank (1976)

• Follow the Leader: The format is suspiciously similar to Hollywood Squares in nature, isn't it?
• Screwed by the Network: Despite high ratings, the ABC run was canned very swiftly in favor of soap-opera expansions (Bank aired between One Life to Live and General Hospital, and the president of ABC Entertainment at the time, Fred Silverman, actually openly hated game shows, feeling that they were a waste of time, and not as entertaining as soap operas or talk shows), and due to a lack of station clearances related to its somewhat hasty launch, the syndicated run didn't last much longer. Nonetheless, the show has somewhat of a following, and has occasionally been seen on GSN.
