Trivia / Bluey: The Sign

Go To

  • Aluminum Christmas Trees:
    • Toward the end of the wedding sequence, Bingo excitedly informs Grandma Heeler that "[Grandpa] Bob and [Uncle] Stripe are dancing like eagles!" In real life, it's a Queensland tradition to play "Eagle Rock" by Daddy Cool at weddings, and the "eagle dance" involves all the groomsmen forming a circle, dropping their trousers, and dancing in their underpants (although one wonders how that works when no one in the Bluey universe typically wears trousers).
    • Likewise we get a glimpse of Rad's phone lockscreen, which shows Rad and his brothers wearing watermelon helmets. Watermelon helmets are a traditional cricket match accessory in real life.
  • Celebrity Voice Actor:
  • Defictionalization: Shortly before the episode aired, the Heeler house was listed on Australian real-estate website Domain, including a phone number that went to Bucky Dunstan's voicemail. After the episode aired, the listing was updated: "Withdrawn from sale".
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Looking closely as the Heelers drive Bluey to school, you can see the family car driving past what appears to be a small brightly-painted structure. Looking even more closely, Bluey and Bingo are painted on the structure's side! This is a real electrical box outside the Stafford State School in Brisbane, which was decorated with Bluey scenes by the production staff.
  • Word of God: Series creator Joe Brumm confirmed the episode was not meant to be a possible Grand Finale for the show, as the fourth season was greenlit before the episode's premiere. The episode's extra length was meant to serve as a test to see if the show's audience would approve of possible future specials, or even a Bluey movie.
  • Working Title: The episode was called "We'll See" during production.
