• Approval of God:
  • The Discord server for Vitamin Games (the developer of Project Arrhythmia) has an emote of Jestar Heart.
  • Some artists of the songs in the collection have shown approval for it. Teminite reposted a clip of Party Time to Twitter, and ArcaneSoul commented on the video showcasing Total Destruction in approval.
• Ascended Fanon: Irqus, who makes a cameo in the level Surface Tension, first appeared in a non-canon custom level by Linkyop. Said level ended with Jestar Heart stopping him before he could kill the player, for interfering with the plan to steal their souls.
• Creator's Pest: Puffer, the boss of the level Running My Head - which ol666 has called one of the worst in the series.
• Follow the Leader: Though it wasn't the first to do either, Black Heart's popularity led to several other level creators making both boss levels and level storylines. In fact, several Project Arrhythmia collections are a Boss Game like it.
• Killer App: Black Heart is just as popular as, if not more popular than, the base game Project Arrhythmia itself. Several of its levels have remained on the top of the Steam Workshop's "most popular" rankings for years and videos showcasing them have view counts above many other levels, making the series an equivalent to a "killer app" in custom levels.
• What Could Have Been: A level with the song Jelly by Opiuo was planned for the second chapter, but was cancelled as there was no permission to use its music. Its boss would have been Xero, The Engineer responsible for building the Heart Locket and the Core.
