Trivia / Betrayal in Antara

Go To

  • Divorced Installment: A complicated example. The poor sales of the floppy disk version of Betrayal at Krondor caused Sierra to hastily scrap their plans for the original Betrayal At Krondor sequel, going as far as to sell the Riftwar game rights back to Raymond E. Feist and restructure Dynamix toward developing simulation games... only for the CD-Rom sales of Krondor to be exceptionally good. This blunder not only delayed development of a proper sequel (which eventually resulted in Return to Krondor), but spurred development of Betrayal In Antara out of Sierra's regret.
  • Stillborn Franchise: Ends on an obvious Sequel Hook, but didn't do good enough to justify the development of one.
