  • Creator Backlash: Both Adrian Belew and Bill Bruford stated that "Heartbeat" and "Two Hands" shouldn't have been included on the album; despite this, Belew would later perform a solo version of the former on his 1990 album Young Lions.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The music video for "Heartbeat" has never been made officially available since its days airing on MTV; even after King Crimson ceased their infamous Denial of Digital Distribution in 2019, the music video remains AWOL (the video for "Sleepless" also isn't officially available online, but it at least saw an official re-release as an extra on the Neal and Jack and Me concert DVD).
  • What Could Have Been: The band originally envisioned producing a 14-minute short film encompassing "Neal and Jack and Me", "Heartbeat", and "Neurotica". Ultimately, only the "Heartbeat" portion could be completed, with the financing for the other two clips never coming through.
  • Working Title: "Neurotica" was originally performed in live shows as "Manhattan", being an instrumental there (as Adrian Belew had yet to write lyrics for it).
