• Writer Revolt: Scott Meyer got several comments asking him to make his wife look hotter, and 'less like a lesbian'. He responded by replacing her with pictures of Portia de Rossi.
• Write Who You Know: Scott has made no secret of the fact that his comic is about a fictionalised version of himself interacting with similar versions of his wife and his best friend, to the point where the real Ric complained that when the fictional Rick came out ahead he was envious of his cartoon self. In the rerun commentary Scott and Missy would even remark on cases where their characterisation was a bit wonky for the sake of the Rule of Funny - for example, Missy points out at one point that her fictional version was telling Scott to swear less, when in real life she herself would swear a lot more if she could get away with it.
