• In Memoriam: "The Tale of Iroh" is dedicated to Mako, who had died after the completion of this season. Makes the story all the sadder for it.
• The Other Darrin: "The Tale of Iroh" features the first instance of Greg Baldwin voicing Iroh, in the scene where earthbender kids break a window.
• Playing Against Type: Tara Strong voices the girl that insults Toph for her new look.
• Reality Subtext: Iroh's segment ends with him mourning his deceased son. The fact that it happened in the first episode to air after the passing of Iroh's voice actor made it all the sadder.
