Trivia / Asobi Asobase

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
    • Mai Kanazawa voices Oka, the Lord of Pastimers, and the Student Council Vice-President.
    • Megumi Toda voices Agrippa in addition to Andou in Episode 5, Chisato's friend from college, and the Tennis Club advisor.
    • Ryoko Maekawa voices both Chisato and the Shogi Club president.
    • Both Koichi the android and the Student Council president of the all-boys school were voiced by Kaito Ishikawa.
  • Actor-Shared Background: Shuu Uchida used to struggle with Japanese in her younger years due to her being raised in Australia and spoke English for most of her childhood. Her character Fujiwara likewise hates classical Japanese literature and is an ace at English.
  • Adaptation First: Crunchyroll streamed the anime adaptation three years before the manga was officially licensed by Comikey.
  • The Cast Showoff: Shuu Uchida, Fujiwara's voice actress, was actually born and raised in Australia, hence her character's fluent English.
  • Playing Against Type: Both Ryōtarō Okiayu and Toshiyuki Morikawa are renowned for their portrayals of calm, cool and aloof handsome mature men of action, or at times psychopathically cold villains. So it boggles the mind when they somehow are cast as Maeda and Olivia's brother, respectively.
  • Star-Making Role: For Hina Kino, Rika Nagae, and especially Konomi Kohara. Prior to Asobi Asobase, none of them had really starred in a significant role in any anime, if at all in the case of Nagae, but their roles as the Pastimers launched them squarely into mainstream popularity.
