- Completely Different Title: The original title (which apparently means "whether asleep or awake") seems to be completely different from the English one. Also one may wonder how Asako I & II describes this film.
- Romance on the Set: The actors for Ryohei/Baku (Masahiro Higashide) and Asako (Erika Karata) were in a romantic relationship that reportedly began while they were working on the film. The only problem was that Higashide was already married to Anne Watanabe with two children (with one on the way), which was why it became a high-profile scandal in 2020. Higashide and Watanabe also ended up divorcing because of this.
