• Deleted Scene:
  • A short scene depicting the cosmonaut running and dying offscreen with his visor pierced by the aliens, was excised from the film. There are also two alternate scenes of the Americans finding his corpse.
  • Another alternate scene that can be viewed in the DVD has Anderson showing a photo of his family before reaching the LK.
• Fake American: All of them. Most actors are Canadian, except by Walker's, who is Welsh.
• Missing Trailer Scene: The trailers contain some pre-takeoff Saturn V scenes not seen in the film itself.
• Not Screened for Critics: It wasn't.
• Troubled Production: The release date was changed five times.
• Viral Marketing: Starting with an alleged moon program conspiracy blog entitled LunarTruth. It's even featured at the end of the film.
• What Could Have Been: Five different endings were shot, which can also be watched in the DVD. In the first, there are aliens inside the LK, which loses oxygen and suffocates Anderson to death; in the second, there are no aliens inside the LK, and Anderson is killed instead by one outside, which breaks inside through the window with a large pincer; in the third, Anderson turns out to be infected and starts smashing the ship from inside in rage; in the fourth, Anderson turns out to be infected after taking off in the LK, but they plummet back down to the Moon right after; and in the fifth, presumably compatible with any ending, Grey manages to survive and return to Earth, where he learns the mission was all along an attempt to get alien venom.
