* CreatorBacklash: ''Trash'' was his comeback album that brought him a level of success that he hadn't had in almost fifteen years but most of its lyrics were about sex, brothels or [=BSDM=] (a successful attempt to tap into the popularity of Music/MotleyCrue and Music/GunsNRoses). As a result of his renewed Christianity a few years later it's rare for Alice to perform any of its songs in concert, other than "Poison".
* HeyItsThatGuy:
** Donovan, of all people, duets with Alice on the title track to ''Billion Dollar Babies''.
** Again, of all people, Liza Minnelli (who Alice was dating at the time; he later joked that he "might've been her only straight boyfriend"), Ronnie Spector, and The Pointer Sisters contributed background vocals to both "Man With the Golden Gun" and "Teenage Lament '74" on ''Muscle of Love''.
** Creator/VincentPrice did a creepy monologue between "Devil's Food" and "The Black Widow" on "Welcome to My Nightmare".
*** And played "The Spirit of the Nightmare" on the TV special.
*** He also provided a creepy voiceover on "Coma" and "The Garden" by ''Music/GunsNRoses''.
** "Hell Is Living Without You" was co-written and produced by [[Music/BonJovi Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora]].
* RealLife/MeanCharacterNiceActor: In private life, Cooper is a devout Christian, and a substitute Bible Studies teacher at his local school, and a great golfer. Then he goes to work and records songs about {{Serial Killer}}s. He makes it clear on many occasions that his onstage persona is a character he plays to entertain people, but that he doesn't act that way in real life. MoralGuardians frequently accused him of satanism until he made it clear he was in fact christian.
** And boy, does he ''love'' showing off his nice side, mostly because it freaks people out more than his nasty side.
*** His appearance in ''Film/{{Sextette}}'' will frighten anybody - [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CO52Fe1mKU behold true terror.]]
** He's generally pretty nice in his currently running radio show.
** This is played up in ''WaynesWorld'', where he plays himself as a highly philosophical gentleman backstage.
** He also owns a popular family restaurant in Phoenix, AZ, infamous for its "Big Unit" two-foot-long hot dogs (named for Randy "Big Unit" Johnson of the Arizona Diamondbacks, a co-investor in the restaurant), and appeared on ''Series/ManVFood'' when the host did a Phoenix-themed episode. The host even referenced the "We're not worthy" Wayne's World bit when Alice brought out his food personally.
* MissingEpisode: The ''Special Forces'', ''Zipper Catches Skin'', and ''[=DaDa=]'' albums, for Alice himself. He was so deep in the throes of alcoholism in the early 80s that he says he has no memory of recording them. He sobered up for good soon after recording ''[=DaDa=]''.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Originally recorded the theme song for ''Film/TheManWithTheGoldenGun'', but was dumped in favor of Lulu.
** He had album-themed shows planned for both ''Goes to Hell'' and ''Welcome 2 My Nightmare'' ala the original ''Welcome to My Nightmare'' tour but neither panned out, the former due to illness and the latter due to lower-than-expected album sales.
