Pre-series

    • Emu Hojo, who will later become Patient Zero of the Bugster Virus and Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, is born to Kiyonaga Hojo, president of the Medic Trick company. (~Mighty Novel X~)

  • 1998: Nico Saiba, who will become Ride-Player Nico, is born.
  • 1999:
    • Emu Hojo sends fanmail to Genm Corporation, expressing his love of the Mighty games and sharing his ideas for a two-player co-op installment he calls Mighty Brothers XX. Kuroto Dan becomes enraged upon receiving the fanmail and realizing that his talent for game development is not as unparalleled as he previously thought. (Ep. 22)
  • 2000:
    • January 1: The Millennium Bug seemingly has little observable impact on the world's computers. In reality, it causes a glitch that Kuroto Dan will use as the basis for the Bugster virus. (Ep. 22)
    • Kuroto Dan responds to Emu Hojo's fanmail, thanking him for his gratitude and sending him a disc containing Mighty Action C, a demo for Mighty Action X. In truth, Mighty Action C is a trojan horse encoded with the primordial version of the Bugster virus, which infects Emu when he plays it and cultivates within his body for the next ten years, making him Patient Zero of game disease. Emu's Imaginary Friend based on the Orange Mighty from Mighty Brothers XX becomes sentient as his Bugster Parado, who occasionally possesses Emu's body to participate in video game tournaments under the handle Genius Gamer "M". (Ep. 22)
    • June 13: Emu collapses in the middle of the street on a rainy day from the Bugster virus and is critically injured. Dr. Kyotaro Hinata performs life-saving surgery on Emu and gives him a WonderSwan, inspiring his aspirations for the medical profession. (Ep. 1, Ep. 11)
  • 2010:
    • Madoka Hoshi is born. Kagenari Nagumo, Madoka's father who will later become Kamen Rider Fuuma, disappears and leaves her with her mother. (True Ending)
    • Parado possesses Emu to participate in a Tekken tournament. As Genius Gamer "M", he defeats his self-proclaimed rival Genius Gamer "N" (Nico Saiba) in the final round and claims victory. Shortly afterwards, Emu is abducted by the Dr. Michihiko Zaizen of the Next Genome Institute on orders from Kuroto Dan and is operated on to surgically extract the original Bugster virus from his body. Parado's extraction from Emu's body releases a wave of game disease that digitizes the members of the Next Genome Institute and banishes them to the game world, leaving Michihiko's daughter Saiko orphaned. Without Parado's influence, Emu turns his attention away from video games and focuses on his medical studies. (Ep. 15, 30)
  • 2011:
    • Zero Day: Using Parado's virus, Kuroto Dan creates the 10 Proto Gashats to unleash an epidemic of game disease. Masamune Dan is framed for the outbreak and arrested, with Kuroto assuming control of Genm Corporation and pretending to atone by cofounding the CR Center of Seito University Hospital with the Japanese government's Ministry of Health. (Ep. 4)
    • Dr. Taiga Hanaya is recruited to be the first doctor for the CR Center to treat game disease, equipped with a Bang Bang Shooting Proto Gashat and undergoing compatibility surgery to survive exposure to Bugster virus data from the use of Gashat-based technology. His coworker Jiro Maki attempts to use the technology to help him, but succumbs to game disease due to not having undergone the proper compatibility surgery and dissolves into data that is backed up in the Proto Gashats. Taiga Hanaya is fired and his license is revoked after his failure to terminate the Graphite Bugster results in Saki Momose succumbing to Drago Knight Hunter Z game disease. (Episode ZERO)

Post-series

  • 2018:
    • March: In order to fulfill the promise to Poppy Pipopapo to play together with her, Emu gathers his friends in a new game called Kamen Rider Carnival. (Final Stage)
    • September: While fighting the Bugsters, Ex-Aid and Para-DX are intercepted by Kamen Rider Build, who, utilizing RabbitTank and GorillaMond, renders Ex-Aid unable to transform as he absorbs his essence into a Fullbottle. Parado gives chase through Build's portal. (True Ending, Heisei Generations FINAL)
    • One week later, Foundation X scientist Kaisei Mogami conspires with his counterpart from the World of Build, where Parado has been stranded for two years, to combine the two worlds via the Enigma device and reign supreme as the immortal Emperor Bikaiser. Coming into contact with Build, Sento Kiryu, Emu's powers are returned with the two proceeding to defeat Kaisei Mogami with the aid of Emu's fellow Gamer Riders as well as legendary Riders Ghost, Gaim, Fourze, and OOO. (Heisei Generations FINAL)
  • 2020:
    • Kuroto Dan tricks Emu Hojo and Parado into playing a video game that will release him from his digital imprisonment. He collaborates with Saiko Yaotome under the promise of resurrecting her father Michihiko Zaizen. (Para-DX Hyper Battle, Another Ending Trilogy)
    • Kuroto revives the Lovelica Bugster and Saki Momose to antagonize Hiiro Kagami and Taiga Hanaya, manipulating the latter into transforming into Kamen Rider Cronus and bringing the Kamen Rider Chronicle Gashat which he can use to restore Masamune Dan. (Kamen Rider Brave & Snipe)
    • Saiko Yaotome surgically extracts Masamune Dan's Bugster virus Black Parado and he replaces and impersonates the real Parado. Poppy and Para-DX team up to defeat Another Para-DX and the revived Genomes, but the former is assimilated by Kuroto to imbue him with the original Bugster virus and allow him to create God Maximum Mighty X.     • Kiriya Kujo receives the Buggle Driver II to become Kamen Rider Lazer Chambara Gamer Level X so he can depower Genm's God Maximum Gamer Level 1000000000 and kill the last of his ninety-nine extra lives to put an end to his Zombie Chronicle game, seemingly at the cost of his own life. A reformed Saiko Yaotome uses God Maximum Mighty X to revive Kiriya as a full human. (Episode ZERO, Kamen Rider Genm vs. Lazer)
    • October: In the aftermath of Kamen Rider MetsubouJinrai's destruction of ZAIA Enterprise's Japan branch, Gai Amatsu starts up his own company Thouser-Intellion with the assistance of his newly purchased Secretary-Type HumaGear Rin. Having survived its apparent destruction, Satellite Ark reconstitutes the Bugster virus data of Kuroto Dan and Masamune Dan from the Internet and they infect Gai with their game disease while he is establishing his new company.   • 2023: Kuroto attempts to trigger a relapse of Zero Day with Mighty Novel X and reveal Emu's past and his father Kiyonaga's role in the creation of the Bugster virus. (~Mighty Novel X~)
