  • The song, "Yestoday", despite its upbeat melody, is arguably about missing the simplicity of their old lives and disillusionment with idol life. Taeyong raps about being distant from others, only feeling safe when he's alone, and having sacrificed his yesterday for their dream. Mark raps about his "156" (the number of a bus route in Vancouver) now being rap, alluding to being consumed by his identity as an NCT member, and getting more spotlight than sunlight.
  • The documentary series NCT 127: The Lost Boys (2023) features the members sharing their emotional childhood stories, including Ambiguously Absent Parents, family deaths, bullying, financial struggles, identity crisis, and the struggles of being famous.
  • NCT 127's speech after winning the Daesangnote  at the 2022 Seoul Music Awards. Well, any Daesang winning moment is emotional, but there is just something special about NCT 127, especially if it is recalled how NCT was once called SM Entertainment's biggest mistake. Now, not only that they became the first NCT sub-unit to win a Daesang from a major South Korean music award show, they also managed to break the 4-year winning streak of the world's biggest boy band.
  • Mark graduating from NCT Dream. He did end up returning over a year later, though, and the sub-unit eventually got rid of the graduating concept to become a fixed group.
  • "Ruby", from Taeyong's first solo album, is Taeyong's dedication to his beloved dog, Ruby, who passed away in 2020.
