- I know you so well, so well...
One of the largest reasons X's music was so beloved by many was in how X himself poured his sinking depression out so plainly for all to see in his songs.
- "Jocelyn Flores" is a huge tearjerker of a song that won over the hearts of millions of people worldwide, despite being a mere two minutes in length. The backstory of the song itself doesn't help, either; X named the song after a very dear friend of his who visited him in Florida, who then committed suicide in a hotel room on May 14, 2017.I know you so well, so well
I've been trapped in my mind girl, just holding on
I don't wanna pretend there's something, we're nothing
I've been stuck thinking 'bout her, I can't hold back - Most of 17 and ?, ? in particular is pretty bleak and more sad than 17, regards to songs such as "SAD!" and "changes".
- "Save Me" where X pleads to the listener to save him.
- "Fuck Love" with Trippie Redd.
- The final track off of ?, "before i close my eyes", featuring X singing a prayer but asking for the Lord to forgive him. Considering this was the last release before his death, it gives more of a punch.
- "Everyone Dies in Their Nightmares", nuff said.
- The music video of "SAD!", which features X visiting his own funeral.
- "Hope", which is a dedication to the kids who died during the Parkland Shooting can spark some tears.
