- The whole storyline with Mibu and Kaori in Miu's route. Mibu and Kaori had been in a relationship until Kaori, fed up with his cheating, broke up with him. Mibu's response? To choke her to death and dispose of her body in the river.
- The real tragedy is that Kaori, when she regains her memories, reveals that she wasn't even planning to really break up with him. It was simply an attempt to rein in his cheating. Two lives ruined for nothing.
- Sora having to flee his hometown and start a new life after causing the death of his sister in an auto accident. While this would be depressing enough, it was compounded by the public shaming he received from both friends and strangers. And tragically, he can't even escape his past as she follows him (unknowingly) to his new destination.
