"Even Chief Hikari couldn't resist the power of darkness... Or is the power of light... such a vulnerable and fragile thing?"
-The Beginning-
  • Ribut's failure to save Max at first. Since this segment was before his induction into the Galaxy Rescue Force, we got to see a younger version of him being a New Meat who grows from a self-loathing Ultra to a Determinator who tries to amend for his mistakes.
  • Alien Sran's death is also accounted for. In The Stinger, we found out that Alien Sran was rescued from his death by Absolute Tartarus and served him out of gratitude, but was killed after failing to work off his debt. This puts his actions in a very different perspective as he may have been Forced into Evil.

-The Divergence-

  • The Divergence, as the title suggest shows two Ultras, Ken (Father of Ultra) and Taro in their younger selves being Born Winner themselves and thus having improvements in their lives, but their relationship with their respective friends, Belial and Tregear, grows steadily apart and as it is a Foregone Conclusion, the latter two would end up becoming Fallen Heroes on their right. From both of their episodes alone demonstrated that despite their successes, they fail to understand their friend's hardships (and in Taro's case, being Innocently Insensitive). As Tartarus exploited his ability to travel through time, he messed them up in several ways, diverting them from being the dark Ultras we knew, but instead turning them evil anyways.
    • After suffering from the backlash of touching the Plasma Spark, Belial went on a mindless rampage and attack his own people. Ken and Zoffy try to help, but Belial was too consumed in his Pride and outright blamed Ken for his misfortunes. As he banished himself to a nearby planetoid, it was then where Tartarus shows all of Belial's fate in the future (his transformation into an evil Ultra, ascending into a Multiversal Conqueror and gets beaten by Ultraman Zero, creating his artificial son named Geed, evolving into the form as Atrocious and finally getting killed by his own son). Belial wasn't shocked, but goes on unleashing a creepy laughter that borderline leans to Despair Event Horizon as his achievements in the future were All for Nothing and eventually accepted into Tartarus' team.
    • Young Tregear on the other hand became disillusioned when his respected chief Ultraman Hikari became Hunter Knight Tsurugi and went all out attacking his co-worker in a fit of rage. This became a seed of Tregear's Blue-and-Orange Morality as he became torn over the conflict between the darkness and light, further worsened when Taro was clueless over it but swears to protect Tregear. In Planet Deastar. Tartarus unleashed Night Fang against the two friends and was exposed to the monster's nightmare-inducing wave where his fear over the darkness and light get the best of him again. Tartarus fully expecting that and like Belial, Tregear was exposed to his future self absorbing Grimdo to become an evil Ultra that finally opposing Taro and the tri-Squad. Unlike Belial, Tregear expressed genuine shock over how far his future self has fallen and decided to join Tartarus' cause, leaving Taro on Planet Deastar.
Tregear: That's how you... only see things from one side.
Taro: What? Tregear, what did you just say?
Tregear: In this world... there is neither light nor dark.
      Taro: Tregear! Don't go! Tregear!

-The Appearance-

  • The very end of the series tops it all: Tartarus successfully kidnapped Yullain and the Ultras were too late to stop him. His reasoning is to provide a new home to his people, the Absolutians and is planning to use Yullian as a bargaining chip against the Land of Light to surrender their planet.
