Tear Jerker / Thelma & Louise

• The almost-rape of Thelma, where she tearfully begs Harlan not to hurt her, even as he forces her over the car and hits her in the face several times. Thank God Louise showed up when she did.
  • Louise's line "when a woman is crying and screaming like that, she isn't having any fun" becomes especially tear jerking when you get hints to her backstory.
• Louise's savings being robbed by JD. She collapses crying in a heap, probably the only time in the film she really breaks down.
• Darkly amusing in its own way as well, but Thelma instantly knows that Darryl knows what's happened and is working with the cops to catch her because he greeted her in a friendly manner, which says more than a few things about just how awful their Awful Wedded Life was.
• The last few minutes. In some ways happy tears, in others very bittersweet.
