• Li Hu's execution, especially since his son and future daughter-in-law are Forced to Watch as he dies.
• Hu Nian agrees to marry Yansage to save Wuguli, who's only in trouble because of her own stupidity and who couldn't care less about what her sister had to do to rescue her.
• Everything that happens to Zhi Mo. He's blinded by his own uncle, castrated on his uncle's orders, then thrown down the stairs while his brother is Forced to Watch.
• Xian orders Yan Yan to marry him. She discovers this just as she's planning her wedding to De Rang.
• Yan Yan and De Rang attempt to elope. They're caught and Yan Yan is literally dragged away while De Rang gets badly injured trying to fight off their attackers.
