- We finally get to see the effect of the trauma left behind when somebody's entire home and everybody they've ever known is destroyed in a horrifying manner on somebody who isn't an eternal optimism machine. Connie has been damaged by seeing Earth get destroyed firsthand, and it shows through her flashbacks, hypervigilance, intrusive memories, and other symptoms of her PTSD. And knowing that the Night of Fate is looming on the horizon makes it even worse, considering that she's going to have to go through the same experience all over again.
- In "Move On," Connie finally holds a memorial service for the Crystal Gems and her family so she can properly move on, and her visceral emotional reactions while she gives them eulogies are heartbreaking.
- What is Connie most afraid of? "Losing everything again." What makes it worse is that we know that her worst nightmare is going to be realized very, very soon.
- The destruction of the Destiny Islands is equal parts this and Nightmare Fuel. We see all the side characters the author has spent so much time getting us to know and love get killed or have everything taken away from them in one fell swoop in a terrifying manner.
- Connie is just... completely broken by the end of it, too. She just lies on the ground, letting the Heartless tear her to pieces as the remains of her world slowly disintegrate. She's just done.
