  • All of the crew's Dark and Troubled Pasts would qualify, but Tae-ho's would probably take the cake: once a high-ranking UTS officer, he ended up adopting a child named Su-ni, and therefore lost the will to kill innocents. Because of this, he was fired and had no choice but to live on the streets. If that isn't enough, he also lost his daughter during an explosion on the space station they were on at the time. When the film starts, he's been scrounging for years for the money to recover her body.
  • After the crew manages to rescue Kot-nim from the Facility, the first thing she asks is where her father is. The adults, knowing fully well that her father has just been murdered (and in front of them, no less), guiltily try to cover up his absence by saying that he "had to go to work."
    • Reinforced later on when the crew attempts to pull off their Heroic Sacrifice and have to send Kot-nim in the opposite direction. When she asks where they're going, Tiger Park simply gives her a smile and says, "[They] have to go to work now." As soon as she's out of hearing range, he sadly whispers "Take care, Kot-nim dear."
  • The crew affirming their love for one another, right before the bomb goes off.
Tae-ho: Captain Jang, Park, and Bubs ... flying with you has been a great honor.
Tiger Park: You guys are the best team I ever had. And my best friends.
Bubs: You guys know I love you, right?
  • Tae-ho talking with Su-ni one last time.
