Tear Jerker / Re-Main

• The premise itself, especially from the perspective of Minato’s old friends in middle school, who had spent every single day grinding and sharing countless memories with him…only for him to recall none of them.
• At the end of episode 7, while re-watching a recording, Minato suddenly realizes that he was a Jerkass in middle school the entire time. His realisation that the only proper memory he has of Oka is of yelling at him is painful.
• Nearly all of episode 8. Chinu reveals how much she hated Minato, and how relentlessly he bullied his senior and her role model, to the point where he changed schools and quit water polo for good. She also revealed that she lied to Minato about the promise he made to her, so that she could force him to continue playing water polo and take responsibility for his actions.
  • Now with all his memories back and in a Heroic BSoD, he cycles back to his house in the rain and has another accident, this time one that removes all of his new memories. Seeing the cheerful, amiable Minato revert back to the arrogant, stuck up Minato and relentlessly deride everyone on his team and even his family is heartbreaking.
