  • All of the lost souls in the Shattered Passage in The Beast of Winter have potential for this depending on how sympathetic you find them, but the one that really takes the cake is the Glamfellen Soul. In life, she was a pale elf who got separated from her partner in a blizzard and died alone. The kicker is that she still thinks she's lost in the blizzard, and the only way you can help her without attacking you is by impersonating her partner. The voice acting really sells it.
  • This speech, from Edér, which he only gives if the Watcher and your other companions can't talk Bearn down:
Edér: Listen to me. You gotta listen, kid. Bearn. During the Saint's War, me and my brother, we had a choice to make. It was just like this. We saw it different, he and I. He chose our god. I didn't. I'll never see him again. And I don't know where his soul is now, but I don't think Eothas was around to save it. You're gonna stay here. There's better ways to serve your god. You can build something in his honor, like I did. A town. A temple. A good life. Maybe not a statue...
  • When you meet Eothas in Magran's teeth, Edér screams to Eothas about how much suffering he's seen as a result of people's blind workship of the gods. Normally, he's very chill, but in this moment we get to see all his pent up rage... and Eothas doesn't do anything except reassure him that everything will turn out well.
  • If you side with the VTC, Tekehu will stay with you. He'll question the Watcher's decision, but it's easy to convince him that this choice will be better for the Deadfire in the long run. But this really comes back to bite him if the Huana oppose the Watcher in the Ofecchia Channel and in Ukaizo. He's horrified at having to do battle against his own people, and Queen Onekaza herself will call him out.
    • Even if you don't bring him along for the assassination, he will become despondent but will try his best to remain cordial. On your way to Ukaizo, he abandons the party, leaving nothing behind but his tear-stained resignation letter.
  • If you side against the VTC, Pallegina will hand you a formal resignation letter. As though your adventures together in the Dyrwood and all throughout the Deadfire meant nothing special to her.
    • Even worse when you encounter her in Ukaizo. She has zero compunctions about killing you, further twisting that knife.
