Tear Jerker / Needful Things

• The death of Antonia Bissette is particularly sad: not only she was a nice, helpful person, according to Father Brigham, but the narrator remarks she never had anything to do with Gaunt and his pranks, thus being one of the few innocent people left in Castle Rock.
• Seven-year-old Sean Rusk finds his brother Brian about to shoot himself and desperately tries - and fails - to stop him, using every argument a seven-year old could conceive. Then he has to face the trauma alone, as his father is away and his mother is so busy with Elvis she doesn't even realise her son is dead.
