Tear Jerker / mother! (2017)

• Arguably everything Mother goes through. All she wants to do is live in peace with Him, but it seems all Him cares about is his writing, and the sole fact none of the house guests show her the uttermost respect is depressing.
• Mother's baby's death. You all know the scene. Hearing its cries and then the neck snap to Mother's terrified and heartbroken reaction to the fact it's now dead is heartbreaking for anybody who has kids/had kids or even planning on having kids. The fact the House guests show no regret or remorse for killing it is worse, especially when they're later on seen eating its remains is worse.
• Him's final conversation with mother. Alternative Character Interpretation aside, you do see a bit of sadness in his eyes as he tells mother how he didn't wish to make her suffer and wants to simply return everything anew as he has to create. Mother's pained voice as she asks him to let her go is heartwrenching, especially when she admits she gave him so much love to him when it wasn't enough, only for Him to state with a sense of sadness in his tone that nothing is ever enough.
  • Add to that, his placing of the crystal in his study and the somber laugh seems to give the implication even he is tired of the cycle and wishes for everything to be as it is.
  • Many people constantly interpret Him as being a Karma Houdini considering he simply restarts the world and has a new (and younger) wife...but take into account that if the beginning and the entire film gives indication, this has happened before, meaning like mother, he's stuck in a never ending cycle.
