Tina's overall fate. After being kidnapped by a forest spirit called Mother and trapped for 10 years, she burns up mother to save her brother only to get impaled on a branch for her trouble. She then ends up being transformed into a shadow monster, but retains enough of her humanity to save her brother and his boyfriend from Aiden and Theo. The end credits show a series of pictures of Oliver and Elijah's life together with her in the background watching over them, which seems heartwarming, but really, she's stuck in a monster form watching the people she loves get to experience a life she can never have, which is cruel considering she was only a 10-year-old when she was originally kidnapped.
A Safe Place
The reason why Phil barricaded himself in his room: he watched his sister, Piper, murder both their parents after suffering her father's abuse and her mother's passive acceptance of it for so long by taking their dad's hunting rifle and shooting both of them. When Piper approaches Phil, who is in a fetal position, she takes one look at herself in the mirror and eats the barrel of the gunbefore pulling the trigger.
It gets worse if you consider Piper not also shooting Phil because he was one of the few good things in her life. Not only did Phil witness Piper committing the act before offing herself, but Piper inadvertently subjected Phil, to numerous nightmares and pretty much ruined his life permanently, as he'll go the next 30 days living in his room to avoid the traumatic sight of the dead bodies of his family sitting in the dining room. This is all because Phil was one of the positive parts of Piper's life.
