• The whale Brygmophyseter sings a song to its mate upon the former's death. One of the few Heartwarming Moments in this Gornilicious series.
• The entire Allosaurus vs Ceratosaurus episode is this. Basically, we have a Ceratosaurus pair minding their own business when a bloodthirsty Allosaurus arrives, kills the female, then the male fights his larger adversary, apparently out of grief for his mate’s death, only to then be effortlessly killed by the Allosaurus as well. A Downer Ending indeed.
• The final episode ends with the Cretaceous extinction. If you've followed the show all the way through, it's hard not to get at least a little bit attached to these guys.
